后垅社区是福安市城北街道下辖的社区，位于福安城区东北部，东侧与城阳镇相接，面积3.6平方公里。[1][2][3]

地名由来[edit]

社区居委会原来所在地是一片农田，故以“后垅”为名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1955年称后垅大队，1984年改称后垅村委会，2003年设立后垅社区居委会。[1]

辖区概况[edit]

社区辖有10个自然村，其中包括王基岭、水长坪、牛楼、牛塘湾、东垅、洋边、六岔路、荷塘坪、福泰与东泰。据博雅地名网所载，共有1766户、7568人（年份未载）。[2]

104国道贯穿辖区，城荷公路东向通往乡村地区和柘荣县，是社区的交通要道。[2]
