前进社区是福安市城北街道下辖的社区，位于街道南部。社区四界分别为：东侧是上杭横路面中心线，西侧是龟湖中心线，南侧是湖山顶，北侧是新华中路。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

名称寓意事业蒸蒸日上、永远前进，社区因此得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1969年先设城关镇前进村委会。1985年改为韩阳镇前进领导小组，后于1989年设前进村委会。2003年以后，这里改称前进社区居委会，沿用至今。[1]

辖区概况[edit]

社区总户数1274户，总人口4209人（年份未载）。富春公园、农村信用社、中南大厦与京都商贸城在辖区之内，宁德市民族中学和市实验一园也设于此，市直机关儿童学园、电力总公司、市广播电视局、自来水公司等单位同样驻在社区内。[2]
