南郊社区位于福安市城南街道，处在市区南端的入口，人口密集，辖区面积约1.229平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南郊村创建于宋太平兴国五年（980年）。1956年，村属步溪乡；1962年设南郊大队，改隶城关镇。1984年改设南郊村民委员会，归韩阳镇。1991年12月划归城南街道；2003年改设为南郊社区居委会。[1]

全社区计1532户。现有人口7823人，常住者4349人，流动人口3467人。[1]

经济[edit]

社区内汽车南站、市高级中学、闽东医院等共15个单位坐落其中，涉及运输、商贸、教育和医疗等行业。[1]
