南湖社区在福安城区南侧：北以解放路为界，南抵溪口桥；东侧是新华南路（国道104线），西侧到湖滨南路，并与龟湖为邻。社区辖区面积约0.9平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区居委会设在福安城南的南湖附近，名称由此而来。[1]

20世纪50年代以后，这里先后名为南湖农会、南湖高级社和南湖大队；1984年设村委会，2003年6月改为社区居委会，并吸收了小西门居委会。[1][2]

人口[edit]

社区登记在册的户籍人口为5238人，住户合计1839户。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

郭文焕烈士故居位于南大路一带，清代后期建成，坐西朝东，为三层砖木结构的合院式建筑。博雅地名网将其归入「近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑」一类。[1]
