城南街道位于福安市区南部，总面积约5平方千米。辖区内有「莲池三贤祠」「东门刘氏祠堂」「郭文焕烈士故居」等古建筑与旧居。[1][3][4][5]

历史沿革[edit]

街道因地处原韩阳镇城区的南部而得名。[2]

1991年，城南街道从韩阳镇析置而设，名称沿用至今。[2]

地理环境[edit]

街道北面与城北街道相接，西面隔富春溪与阳头街道相望，东面和南面与城阳镇接壤。[1]

人口[edit]

福安市人民政府的乡镇概况给出两个数字：常住3.6万人，户籍2.4万人，页面未注统计年份。[1]

经济[edit]

辖区商贸集中，有金马、沃源里、大鲸三处农贸市场，另有一处水果批发市场。[1]

文化[edit]

中小学方面，街道内有「福安高级中学」「福安实小」「德艺学校」；医疗机构则有闽东医院、市中医院。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

莲池三贤祠位于莲池社区，明万历四十七年（1619年）始建，现存建筑为清道光四年（1824年）重建，属古建筑。[3]

东门刘氏祠堂在东风社区三姓路，始建于明代弘治年间（1488年至1505年），年代记为清雍正年间（1723年至1735年），是古建筑。[4]

郭文焕烈士故居位于南湖社区南大路，清代后期建成，坐西朝东，为三层砖木结构的合院式建筑。博雅地名网将其归入「近现代重要史迹及代表性建筑」一类。[5]
