地名[edit]
村名「宅中」的来历有一种说法：迁居此地的林姓先祖原是牧童，自取单字「宅」作名。民国初年，驻扎于此的一个中央军团长觉得这一地名读来不顺，遂在前面添了一个「中」字。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
1934年，此地曾建立苏维埃政府，隶属宅中乡。1935年，村域被划为宅中前、宅中后两保，归属宅中联保。[1]
1940年村子改归菖宅乡；1944年改称宅中保，隶属武陵乡。1950年宅中乡成立，村子编入第三区；1956年改入富溪区，1958年称宅中大队，归富溪公社管辖。[1]
1965年宅中公社设立，1984年原大队撤去，另设宅中村村民委员会。[1]
地理与人口[edit]
村子位于乡政府所在地，海拔540米。全村分为6个自然村，另有14个村民小组。[1][2]
据百度百科，2023年户籍人口为1357人。博雅地名网则记全村321户1375人，未注年份，两者不一致。[1][3]
荣誉[edit]
2025年11月，村子以中草药为主导产业入选省级「一村一品」专业村名单。2026年1月，又列入福建省乡村振兴示范村名单（2026年度）。[1]
