宅中乡是福建省宁德市柘荣县下辖的乡，位于县境南部，地处柘荣、霞浦、福安三县交界处，乡人民政府驻宅中村。[1][4]

乡人民政府的介绍给出全乡6363人，分属1798户；在全县乡镇中，它位置最偏远，人口也最少。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明嘉靖二十三年（1544年）林姓人家迁来此地，房舍依山谷而建，地名最初称「宅里」，后简称「宅」；1912年1月1日改为现名。[2]

1934年，在霞鼎泰县苏维埃政府时期，境内曾设立宅中、山樟、西溪3个乡，并有10个村建立了红色政权。[3]

1935年至1939年，此地属柘洋特种区宅中乡。此后曾与邻近乡合并改组；1950年6月废除保甲后，设立宅中、双溪2个区属乡，1958年8月定为区属宅中乡。[3]

1965年设立宅中公社，1984年改为乡。[2][4]

地理环境[edit]

宅中乡位于柘荣县南部，距县城30公里，处于柘荣、霞浦、福安三县与东源、富溪、黄柏、霞浦柏洋、福安溪柄五乡的交界。境内耕地7236亩，另有林地44869亩；全乡总面积为36平方公里。[1]

人口与行政区划[edit]

全乡下辖的自然村共49个，划归9个行政村。乡人民政府介绍的人口数字为1798户、6363人；百度百科则载2019年末户籍人口为6284人。[1][4]

乡内有1个老区基点村，即坪坑村；另有1个少数民族聚居村，为蔡山降家洋。[1]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻为主，兼产茶叶、药材和蘑菇，乡境为福建省油茶基地之一。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2014年9月，环境保护部授予宅中乡「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]

2024年1月，宅中乡被命名为「2023年福建省卫生乡镇」。[2]

2022年度，宅中乡获福建「清新福建·气候福地」第二批「气候康养福地」称号。乡人民政府还列出曾获「省级农村宣传工作示范乡镇」「省级卫生乡镇」「市级平安乡镇」「市级四好农村路示范乡镇」「市级征兵工作先进单位」等称号。[1]
