软岭村在黄柏乡西北部，距乡所在地9.5公里，辖5个自然村。[1]

村名原作「暖埕」：村中有一块埕地，冬日村民在此晒太阳取暖，后谐音写作软岭。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1934年，此地设软岭村苏维埃政府。1935年划出一个软岭保，隶属蒲洋联保；1940年转属菖宅乡，1944年撤保后归蒲安保。[1]

1954年曾设软岭乡，1956年此乡撤销并入蒲洋乡。1958年又立软岭大队，1959年该大队再次划归蒲洋大队，1965年重新设立软岭大队。1984年撤销大队，改设村民委员会。[1]

人口民族[edit]

全村共209户、738人，常住203人，流动535人，分为13个村民小组。群众主要姓氏为彭、许、吴、杨、黄、叶、温，主要收入来自茶叶和太子参。[1]
