西源村位于东源乡南部，地处丘陵，泰顺至霞浦的公路、柘荣至黄柏的公路与沈海高速复线都经过村境。全村400户、1630人，辖南山村、霞山村、西源村、北陆村四个自然村。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积6000多亩，林地4000多亩，村内设有一个林场。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的由来：村委会驻地位于东源村以西，故名西源。[3]

村中1934年已设苏维埃政府。1935年组成西源保，划归湄泰乡联保；1940年改隶双城镇。1950年又建西源乡，其后隶属数度更动；1965年成立西源大队，1984年换称西源村委会。[4]

经济[edit]

农业以太子参、药材和茶叶为主，部分村民从事加工业。有农业公司落户村内，为妇女就业提供了条件。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

村中保有明清时期的古迹，包括长潭的石拱桥、大利洋与小利洋的一些古民居、西垅的五圣宫和霞山的观音宫。南山岚一带有石牛岩、灯火岩等岩洞，小利洋另有立峰寺、清源寺和遮云寺。[2]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予西源村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
