上城社区位于柘荣县城关东北面，属城乡结合部，2003年由村委会与居委会整合而成。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区原名东安、上宅、东岚。明嘉靖三十八年（1559年）建城堡，初称东安新堡，因城堡位于隔溪相望的柳城一侧，俗称上城，雅名龙城。[1]

据社区所载，项姓最早在此居住；到五代梁时，陶姓迁入。明永乐三年，刘姓由别处迁来，其后林姓也搬入。[1]

1958年成立上城大队。1984年，原上城生产大队撤销，另设上城村民委员会。2003年，村委会改为上城社区居民委员会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

社区辖区面积1.97平方公里，溪流穿过全区。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2011年、2012年，社区连续两年在镇里的量化考评中排名第一。2018年7月，社区获司法部、民政部表彰，列入「第七批全国民主法治示范村（社区）」。2024年12月，社区被列入「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1][2]
