溪坪社区位于龙溪东岸，属双城镇。社区成立于2003年4月，由溪坪村委会与城溪居委会合并而成，因位于龙溪东畔、地势平坦而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此处为溪坪镇保长联合办事处所在地（1935年），1939年改设溪坪保，隶属双城镇。1950年成立溪坪乡政府，1952年撤乡并入城关镇。1958年改称城溪大队，1961年组建溪坪人民公社，1965年撤区并社后改为溪坪大队。1980年复置双城镇时，原溪坪大队的部分居民被划出，组成城溪居委会；1984年大队改称村委会；2003年，溪坪村委会与城溪居委会合并，组成溪坪社区居民委员会。[3]

社区列入城市、农村低保的群众为153户605人。[2]

地理环境[edit]

社区区域面积3.2平方公里，有山林地3000亩、耕地760亩，分为上街、下街、东山仔、溪坪里四个片区，辖区内另有16个自然村。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

社区先后获省公安厅授予的「治保先进单位」，市委、市政府授予的「党建工作先进单位」，以及县委、县政府授予的「先进基层党组织」和「社会综合治理先进集体」称号。[2]
