城南社区位于柘荣县城中心，属双城镇，辖区总面积2.4平方公里。社区原称前营，因位于下城南部而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，此地为下城南保，1944年并入新城保，两保均隶属双城镇。新中国成立后，1950年属新城乡，1952年撤乡改属城关镇，同属第一区管辖。1958年归入一个生产大队，1965年改称南街大队，归城关公社。1981年重新隶属双城镇；1984年改称南街村委会，此后于2003年改为城南社区居民委员会。[1]

2012年末统计，农业人口5700人，户籍人口10070人。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区茶园170亩、水田900亩，有林地612亩。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

仙屿公园在社区西侧，园中的仙屿鳌岛历史上是闽东道教胜地。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2025年12月，社区被列入「2025年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。社区还先后获得宁德市文明社区等称号。[1][2]
