城北社区位于柘荣县城关东北部，沿104国道分布，属双城镇，区域面积2.6平方公里。社区2002年5月由原村委会与城北居委会整合组建。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是城北生产大队。1981年撤销该大队后设立城北村民委员会，2002年5月，原村委会与城北居委会合并，同年改称城北社区居民委员会。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区辖城关两街和26条巷道，茶园150亩、水田600亩，林地则为2800亩。[1]

文化[edit]

社区内设有文明市民学校、普法学校和人口学校，另有图书阅览室、篮球场和体育馆等场所。[2]

荣誉[edit]

社区曾获省级「文明安全片区」、市级「文明社区」和「示范社区」称号。2004年，社区获省政府颁发的「就业与再就业工作先进单位」称号。2021年2月，社区入选「福建省2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。2024年1月，社区获命名「2023年全国示范性老年友好型社区」。[1][2]
