玛坑村是玛坑乡的行政村，也是全乡人口最多的村，乡政府所在地设在此村。全村辖上坑、半溪两个自然村，茶叶是村里的主导产业。[1]

村中汤氏自元末明初迁来此地，在此繁衍生息，距今已有800余年。[2]

村域面积9.51平方千米，周宁县人民政府的村情介绍写作全村2406人、741户，设32个村民小组。[1]

茶园面积4261亩，主要品种为「福云六号」，另有林地8951亩，水稻与甘薯是主要粮食作物。[1]

村中宗祠民俗活动的规模在乡内相对较大。[1]
