桃园村位于纯池镇北部，是老区的行政村，村委会设在桃园自然村，村域内有林氏宗祠、弥陀庵与南城木拱廊桥等古建筑。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

村早先属关隶县，即今政和县，明景泰六年（1455年）改属寿宁县。[3]

旧称上湫溪，因村中小溪名为湫溪而得名，解放后改名桃园。[1]

1955年划入周宁县，1965年设大队，1983年改设村委会。[1][3]

唐末许氏先祖自政和县迁入建村，明洪武二十一年（1388年），林氏先祖自寿宁县迁入。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

村域内海拔860米，位于纯池镇区以北约10公里，洞宫山东侧。[1]

在外经商务工的超过900人，全村共有1371人，分为9个村民小组，共327户。[3]

耕地超过800亩，林地2969.3亩。农产原以水稻、甘薯、土豆为主，近年多数农户改种葡萄与板栗。[3]

古迹[edit]

林氏宗祠始建于明末，1993年由林氏族人重建，祠堂为砖木结构，上下两厅，中间设天井。[1]

弥陀庵始建于明代，关帝亭建于明万历年间，清乾隆三十六年（1771年）建有崇兴殿。[1]

南城木拱廊桥俗名水尾桥，于1845年（清道光二十五年）重建，2008年再修。[1]

民俗[edit]

每年正月初二，林、许两姓族人在宗祠行礼祭拜，即祭祖习俗。[2]
