村名取自古时秀才应试经过此地、寓意「七步登科」的说法。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

1955年设立大队，1984年改为村委会。[1][2]

本村在2021年11月获得「2021年福建省卫生村」称号，2022年12月又被认定为「2022年福建省森林村庄」，前者由福建省爱卫办授予，后者由省绿化委员会授予。[1][2]
