七步镇位于周宁县东部，北面与狮城镇相接，东面与福安市相邻，南面与咸村镇、玛坑乡接壤，西面与李墩镇、浦源镇相连。镇境内有九龙漈瀑布群和登龙桥等名胜。[1][2]

地名[edit]

镇名的来历有两种说法：一说因镇境内的七步溪流经而得名；博雅地名网则称镇子旧时俗称「桥头」，因村头有一座廊桥。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

镇名曾称七溪乡和蒲溪乡。1950年4月起隶属周宁县第二区，同年7月改称第四区；1955年9月划属李墩区。[2][3]

1984年4月建七步乡，1993年由乡改为镇。在此之前，1958年至1966年间，本地的建制屡经变动，先后设乡、改为人民公社、设区，1966年又回到公社。[2][3]

2014年7月，镇被住房城乡建设部等七部委确定为「全国重点镇」；2021年12月，列入「福建省第二批高级版绿盈乡村（乡镇）」名单；2022年，入选「清新福建·气候福地」第二批「气候康养福地」[7]；2022年12月，被福建省爱国卫生运动委员会命名为「2022年福建省卫生乡镇」；2023年10月，入选「2023年福建省全域生态旅游小镇」名单。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

九龙漈瀑布群位于镇境，属国家级风景名胜区，2013年8月评定为国家4A级旅游景区。[4][5]

登龙桥位于八蒲村，建造年代已不可考。清康熙二十六年（1687年）桥被水冲毁，康熙五十六年（1717年）村民募资重建；乾隆三十九年（1774年）、道光十六年（1836年）又经修缮与再建。桥长38米，宽4.9米，桥上建有廊屋。[6]
