坪坑村是咸村镇西面山区的一个行政村，原为革命老区村，老村位于咸村以西3公里的山陵中，新村则迁建于咸头洋。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

坪坑在1958年设大队，1985年由大队改设村委会。[2]

老村因地处山坳、村前有一块平地而得名。据地质调查，此地曾是一个火山口。[1]

老村辖境内的腊洋龟灵寺，当年曾是苏维埃红军活动的地方。[1]

2009年，坪坑被列为省级扶贫开发村。因老村交通不便、经济落后，村子此后集体搬迁至咸头洋，另建坪坑新村。[1]
