咸村社区位于咸村集镇的中心地带，是咸村镇的社区，辖区内集中了镇政府、派出所、中学和银行等机构，全镇的政治、经济和文教卫生事务多以此处为中心。[1]

社区由咸村村委会与咸村居委会于2006年6月合并而成，旧地名有「涵村」与「桃源」之称。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区的历史可追溯至1958年，当年设立咸村人民公社。此后公社改称大队，1985年大队又改为村民委员会。2006年6月，村委会与居委会合并为咸村社区。[1][2]

地理环境[edit]

社区主村位于河谷中的小平原上，海拔约100米，气候属中亚热带海洋性季风气候。桃源溪是社区内最主要的河流，曾因河床淤积与生活垃圾倾倒而水质变差，后经整治。[1][3]

经济[edit]

社区拥有耕地850亩、林地1750亩（政府村情简介，发布于2024年10月），经济以农业为主，主要农产品为水稻与茶叶。[1]

文化[edit]

社区内留有明清风格的古厝、宗祠、庙宇与神宫等建筑，民俗节庆与佛道结合的信仰也一直延续。[1][3]

中国工农红军闽东独立师遗址蔡氏宗祠占地188平方米，土墙上留有墨书标语「苏维埃政府万岁」，1983年被定为县级文物保护单位。[1]
