咸村镇是福建省宁德市周宁县南部的一个镇，镇域夹在天山与楼坪之间的河谷地带，桃源溪自北向南穿过集镇，梨外线公路也从镇中经过。[1][3]
镇名的由来有一段传说：唐末宋初，岳王夜过此地，听见村人熟睡时的鼾声，脱口称之为“鼾村”，“鼾”与周宁方言的“咸”谐音，村名由此而来。[3]
历史沿革[edit]
明代，此地的村落分属宁德县的几个“都”。清初其中两个“都”划归周墩县丞管辖，其余仍属宁德县；民国时称咸杉乡。[4]
1948年9月，咸杉乡划入周宁县，同时从邻近几乡析出若干保，合设桃源乡。1955年改称咸村区，1958年8月分设咸村、枣岭、樟源三乡，随后改为人民公社。[4]
1984年4月设立咸村乡，到1990年5月8日乡制撤销，改设为镇。[4]
地理环境[edit]
镇域地势由西北向东南倾斜，集镇位于桃源溪畔的河谷平原上，镇域平均海拔105米。[3]
镇域面积的说法不一：百度百科作158.76平方千米，博雅地名网作约164平方千米。[1][3]
气候属中亚热带海洋性季风气候，年平均气温18.9℃，极端最高气温39.3℃，极端最低气温-5.3℃，年均日照1751.9小时，多年平均降雨量1620.7毫米，无霜期256天。[3]
文化[edit]
沿溪而建的村舍共有八个，咸村一带因此被雅称为“桃源八境”。[3]
咸村镇在2012年1月被列入「第四批福建省历史文化名镇名村」，认定机关为福建省人民政府。[2]
境内的革命遗址与古建筑也有可述之处：碧岩村的中华苏维埃周政屏革命委员会旧址是周宁县文物保护单位，洋中村则有县级文物保护单位十一处。[5][6]
