碑坑村位于下党乡北部，北靠浙江省庆元县，西接庆元县西溪乡，总面积8.4平方千米。[1]
村子是下党乡迁入最早的村落，村中原以土地肥沃称「肥坑」，明嘉靖二十四年（1545年）立寿宁县界碑于村中，村名由此改为碑坑。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
南宋绍兴元年（1131年），沈姓由浙江省云和县迁入；南宋景炎元年（1276年），吴姓入赘沈姓。[1]
解放前，村子属托溪区。1953年，村子被划入平溪区碑坑乡；1958年设大队；1965年7月改属平溪公社；1984年改大队为村委会。[1]
1988年元月，村子随下党乡的设立划入下党乡，设村委会。[1][2]
2016年12月，村子进入第四批中国传统村落的名单；2021年11月，获得2021年福建省卫生村的称号。[1]
