峡头村位于托溪乡西部，海拔850米，距托溪乡镇区约8千米，距寿宁县城约42千米[1][2]。北面与庆元的龙溪、苏湖两乡相接，西南与下党乡相邻，村中古树名木较多[1][2]。

地名与历史沿革[edit]

村位于一道狭长陡峭山峡的顶端，即峡口；又因村处三个山口，方言称山峡为“峡”，故名峡头[1]。明代村属政和县，旧称政和里十都[2]。

明洪武年间（1368年至1398年），蔡姓始祖蔡六八自浙江庆元县蔡屯村迁入，至今已有六百余年[2]。1945年村属鹤溪乡的峡头保；1950年改属第四区托溪区，称峡头乡。1958年设峡头大队，隶属五星公社，次年归托溪公社。1984年撤社改乡，村改为托溪乡峡头村委会[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

1933年，中国工农红军途经峡头后离开，村中留下一处红军遗址[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，峡头村经省级爱卫部门评定，入选「2021年福建省卫生村」[1][2]。
