地名由来[edit]
据刘氏家谱，此地原名“下坪洋”，后因村下建有水碓，改称下坪碓。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清雍正十年（1732年）刘朝琯迁至石门，乾隆十八年（1754年）又迁到下坪碓定居。新中国成立初归托溪区九岭乡，1958年公社化时属芹洋区东风公社；1959年撤区并社后归芹洋公社，1984年撤社建乡，改设下坪碓村委会。[1][3]
名胜古迹[edit]
村中建有临水宫（马仙宫），村内有石拱桥3座，水口筑堤后形成湖面，岸边有古松古杉数株。[2]
