地名由来[edit]
开基之初，后门山上长满发竹，竹子粗大，可以做大桶的箍，村名因此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初期属平溪乡的保辖，1950年划入第三区（平溪），1956年改属芹洋区。1980年自原大队分出，另设发竹坪大队；1984年撤社建乡，改设发竹坪村委会。[1]
