坑底乡是福建省宁德市寿宁县下辖的乡，位于县境北部，东面和北面与浙江省泰顺、景宁两县接壤，辖20个行政村[1][4]。乡名取自早年迁居者建屋的小坑，民国时期一度称玉壶乡[2][5]。境内的黄阳隘与杨梅州桥是文物保护单位[6][7]。

历史沿革[edit]

地名由来有一种说法：胡姓先民在一条小坑的边沿建屋，屋外有小片平地，因而称坑底，清末文人把它雅化为玉壶，民国时期称玉壶乡，1950年后恢复原名[2]。快懂百科也记载了先民在山谷小坑内侧建宅的说法[5]。

建县之前，这一带归政和县的政和里管辖，分属十一都与十二都；明景泰六年（1455年）寿宁设县后划归寿宁县[3]。1934年设玉壶乡，1940年6月改称西坑底乡，1941年6月改由县直辖，1945年复称玉壶乡[3]。

1958年5月，鳌阳区改称坑底区[1]。1984年9月，撤销人民公社，改设坑底乡，当时辖15个行政村[3]。此后陆续分设山前、龙井村（1991年）、陈家坑、李家洋村（1994年）和地头村（1996年），全乡增至20个行政村[3]。

地理环境[edit]

全乡面积197.71平方千米，乡政府距寿宁县城27千米[4]。平均海拔约918米，年平均气温14.6℃，属亚热带山地季风气候[5]。境内森林资源丰富，闽浙交界处的温当洋村海拔达1181米，是全县海拔最高的建制村[8]。

经济[edit]

农业以水稻和薯类为主，茶叶、花菇与竹木也有出产[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

黄阳隘位于长岭村，始建于明弘治中期（1490年至1500年之间），嘉靖二十四年（1545年）在此设置闽浙界碑。该隘2018年列为福建省第九批省级文物保护单位[6]。

杨梅州桥在杨梅州村东北，为单孔撑架式木梁桥，全长42.5米，始建于清乾隆五十六年（1791年），1937年重建。它是「闽东北廊桥」全国重点文物保护单位的组成部分[7]。
