历史沿革[edit]
韦姓两兄弟从浙江景宁道化迁来，一人落户南门坑底，一人在源尾（今外韦）定居。[1]
土改那年，它归第一区（鳌阳区）的清源乡管。1958年起先设登丰公社的外韦大队；1965年后改归岱阳公社，仍称外韦大队。1984年改乡，成为清源乡下的外韦村委会，2017年9月再改为清源镇外韦村委会。[1][2]
2024年1月，外韦村获评「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
人口[edit]
博雅地名网所载常住669人，60岁以上的有288人；另一处称全村457户、1575人。外出流动人口906人，约占全村人口的一半以上，主要前往福州、广州和石狮，多做生意或打工。以上均未注年份。[2]
地理环境[edit]
全村土地总面积4.5平方千米。山地与林地合计约4500亩，其中生态林1346亩、天然林242亩。[2]
经济[edit]
村民以务农为主，收入主要来自茶叶、水稻和零工。村中种有茶树约1600亩，水稻约400亩。[2]
