大王前村是福建省宁德市寿宁县犀溪镇十二个行政村之一，位于镇域东部，北沿235国道，距镇政府所在地10千米，东与浙江省泰顺县洲岭乡相接。[1][2][4]

地名由来[edit]

村子最初叫新洋，又名长前坑。村前有一株古树被人奉为菩萨，俗称「大王」，村因在树前而得名大王前。[5]

历史沿革[edit]

明代初期，金氏始祖迁入此地，此后繁衍至今。明代此地属福安里三都，清代归东乡，民国时属犀溪乡。[3][6]

1958年划入红旗公社，设大王前大队，1965年归西浦公社；1984年改设犀溪乡，村为大王前村委会。2012年随犀溪乡改设犀溪镇。[6]

据博雅地名网，2018年曾搬迁至儒登地小学。[6]

村地处丘陵，平均海拔约560米，全村土地约13.24平方千米，森林覆盖率较高，农业以茶叶与水稻为主。全村下辖7个自然村，分别为甲厝、彭岭亭、门针岗、岭头洋、岭头与大王前，主村设在儒登地。[4]

革命遗存[edit]

大王前村是革命老区村，村中有门针岗革命历史纪念室。[4]
