南山村是甘棠乡下辖的行政村，与乡政府驻地甘棠村相邻，距省道202线仅约1公里，后门山一带与新田村的天湖顶景区相接。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取自村前南面的一座山峰。1957年此地属熙岭区甘棠乡，1958年设甘棠公社前南山大队，1984年改设甘棠乡前南山村委会。[1]

2019年10月，依县人民政府统一行政村名用字与读音的通告，村委会改称南山村委会，地名沿用至今。[1]
