长桥镇位于福建省宁德市屏南县西南部，与古田县接壤，是屏南县下辖的五个镇之一。[4][1] 全镇设18个行政村，1993年撤销长桥乡，设立长桥镇。[1][3][7] 镇名取自宋代村中的一座木拱桥，博雅地名网称其为全国最长的木拱廊桥，即今屏南万安桥。[1][5]

历史沿革[edit]

清雍正十三年（1735年）屏南建县，此地分属九都、十都和十一都。[3] 1940年全县撤区设乡镇，此地设长桥镇；1950年11月，县府迁入长桥；同年12月，此地改划入第一区。[3]

1956年设长桥区，1959年红旗公社改称长桥公社，1984年撤销人民公社，成立长桥乡。[3] 1993年7月，长桥乡撤销，设立长桥镇。[3]

地理环境[edit]

镇境地势由西北向东南降低，省道溪东线横贯全境，沿线地形平缓。长桥溪、柏源溪、后圪溪等河流境内穿行，水力资源丰富。[1]

全镇土地总面积158.7平方千米，属亚热带丘陵地区，平均海拔435米，年平均气温17.7摄氏度，年降水量1600毫米以上。[2] 林地面积16.7万亩，森林覆盖率为72.9%。[2]

人口民族[edit]

博雅地名网所载全镇总人口为19548人，未注明统计年份。[2] 沿省道分布的11个行政村，包括新乡、官洋等，居住着全镇八成左右的人口。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

屏南万安桥位于长桥村，始建于北宋元祐五年（1090年），为五墩六孔木拱廊屋桥，桥长98.2米。2006年5月，它与同批的「闽东北廊桥」一道列入「第六批全国重点文物保护单位」。[5]

天宝寺位于长桥村东南方约1公里处，坐落在屏琴山（又名龙江冈）之上，始建于唐开元二十九年（741年），占地4861平方米。博雅地名网称其为全县规模最大的寺院。[2][6]
