前洋村位于双溪镇东部，距双溪镇16公里。村前有一片田洋，村名由此而来。[1]

村子是屏南古村落之一，2019年6月列入第五批中国传统村落名录，地处白水洋·鸳鸯溪景区的全域旅游范围内。[1]

全村土地为3.68平方公里；耕地837亩，林地12044.70亩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年前洋归第四区前洋乡管辖；1958年双溪公社成立后，此地成为前洋大队；1984年撤社建乡，改称双溪乡下的前洋村委会，1986年双溪乡改镇，村委会归双溪镇。[1]

文化[edit]

2018年7月，复旦大学书院教育实践基地设在村中。[1]

村子2017年8月入选「福建省第二批省级传统村落」名录，2021年11月被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」，2022年10月又被福建省农业农村厅认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]
