双溪镇位于屏南县东北部，与政和、周宁两县毗邻。[2] 清代屏南建县后，县治便设在这里，镇内至今保存着文庙、城隍庙等古建筑。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

「双溪」之名取自东、北两溪在此交汇，又称鹅湖；县城位于紫山脚下，城北出产紫色陶釉土，因此也被称为「紫城」。[1]

双溪原属古田县境。清代屏南建县后，县治设于双溪，此地当时归一都管辖。[3] 如今屏南县政府驻古峰镇，双溪则是屏南的旧县治所在。[5] 民国时期，双溪先后设过区公署，并于1940年设双溪镇；1950年改属第四区，区公所设在双溪。[3]

1958年，双溪一度设指导组，次年改称双溪公社。1984年撤销人民公社，改设双溪乡，同年11月改称双溪镇，名称一直沿用至今。[3]

2014年2月，双溪镇入选「第六批中国历史文化名镇」；2014年7月，被住房城乡建设部等七部委确定为「全国重点镇」；2014年9月，环境保护部授予「2012年—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号；2020年12月，双溪镇经福建省爱卫办认定，获「福建省卫生乡镇」称号。[1]

地理环境[edit]

双溪镇土地总面积，博雅地名网作174.4平方公里，百度百科作181.43平方千米，两者并存于此。[2][4]

鸳鸯溪·白水洋旅游景区位于双溪镇宜洋村一带，总面积66平方公里。景区的核心部分包括白水洋与鸳鸯溪，并于2010年被纳入宁德世界地质公园。[10]

人口民族[edit]

截至2019年末，户籍人口有14874人。[4] 博雅地名网另载全镇共有3334户、1.7万人，未注明年份。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

屏南文庙又称双溪文庙，位于旧县城的双溪一带，是福建省文物保护单位。[7][9] 它由知县沈钟于清乾隆元年（1736年）创建，被列为「第六批福建省文物保护单位」，时间为2005年5月。[6][9] 现存的有棂星门、泮池，以及大成殿和崇圣祠。[6]

屏南城隍庙同为福建省文物保护单位，2009年经福建省人民政府公布为「第七批省级文物保护单位」。博雅地名网载其始建于清雍正十三年（1735年），后历经修缮扩建。[8]

镇内还有瑞光塔、北岩寺、古民居等古迹。[2] 闽东苏区领导人叶飞、阮英平等曾在这一带战斗，境内留有「红军洞」等遗迹。[2]
