镇边村位于凤埔乡上半区，距古田县城约33公里。村域四周分别接壤平湖镇前进村（东）、西溪村（西）、官亭村（南）与东溪村（北）。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名的来历是此地处于乡镇的边沿地带。据博雅地名网，村中历史约有500多年。1949年以后归平湖区管辖；1958年转入平湖公社，成为镇边大队，1963年改隶凤埔公社，1984年才以现名定村。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村下辖镇边、官田、下洋3个自然村。据博雅地名网，全村有156户565人（未注年份），党员32人。[1]

地理环境[edit]

山地约8439亩，耕地约1540亩；森林覆盖率超过九成，电力资源较丰富。[1]

村里以种植水稻为主，食用菌规模化生产是主要产业，其中以丑耳为主，林竹业作为辅助。[1]

2021年11月，福建省爱卫办命名本村为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]
