村庄位置较高，山间石头较多，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年建立芹石村，1958年组建芹石大队，1984年改设村民委员会。[2]

现状[edit]

全村242户786人，主要从事食用菌和反季节蔬菜种植。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予芹石村「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[2]
