水口镇是福建省宁德市古田县下辖的镇，位于县境南部，处在闽江与古田溪的交汇处。镇政府驻地在水口社区，镇境内有316国道和202省道通过。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初期，今镇境归古田县第五区。公社化后划入谷口公社，1970年改由设在莪洋的公社管辖，1984年再并入莪洋镇的范围。[2]

1986年2月13日，原为自然镇的水口升格，正式设立水口镇。[1][2]

修建水口电站之故，1990年3月25日起镇驻地挪到朝天桥附近。[1]

地理环境[edit]

镇境在闽江中游，东距福州约84公里，西距南平约89公里。[2]

交通[edit]

境内有316国道与202省道，峰福铁路设有水口站。[2][3]

文化[edit]

2016年5月，「第五批福建省历史文化名镇名村」由福建省人民政府认定，水口镇入列。[2]

2021年2月，水口镇列入「2018—2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]

2022年10月，水口镇经福建省森林康养评定委员会评定，获「2022年福建省级森林康养小镇」称号。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

水口岭边摩崖石刻群在岭边村东南约5公里处，已发现石刻15处。石刻多刻于康熙至道光年间，即1662年至1850年前后，内容以题词、题诗为主，为古田县文物保护单位。[5]

镇区内的天柱山顶建有鼎古云三仙娘庙，供奉马仙娘，山旁有省级森林公园。石华禅寺也在镇内，寺中可以俯瞰闽江。[4]
