新建村是凤都镇北部的少数民族行政村，村民以畲族为主，南与凤都村交界，距镇政府约5.5公里。[1]

人口民族[edit]

村中居住着畲族和汉族，其中畲族约占八成。据称畲族先人在明代由福建汀州府（今长汀县）迁至龟洞定居，已有四百余年，村里至今保存着一份祖先图。[1]

经济[edit]

村内五个自然村出产的水蜜桃俗称“五斗桃”，在国内市场有一定声誉；茭白产品也较为优质。村内建有白水际水电站、白水际二级电站和下游三党电站等。[1]
