东双村位于杉洋村南部，西与鹤塘镇相邻，南与闽侯县交界。博雅地名网记全村土地总面积15000多亩，有1464人、413户，辖6个自然村。[1]

村名的来历是村中两条小溪自东面流入。[1]

1949年东双隶属杉洋区，称东双村；1958年立为杉洋公社东双大队；1984年改设杉洋镇东双村委会。[1][2]
