远地村位于杉洋镇南部约7公里处，在龙舞溪下游、鳌江上游一带。博雅地名网记村落面积1.6平方公里，有441人、142户，下辖4个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

建村之初，村民寄望后代永远安居于此，村名由此而来。[1]

1949年时此地称远地村，属杉洋区；1958年归杉洋公社，设远地大队；1980年再次设立远地大队；1984年改称杉洋镇远地村委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村内林木和毛竹资源丰富，有山林地约1004亩，毛竹1000多亩，耕地约580亩。[1]
