后彰村紧邻古宁公路，离鹤塘镇政府不足一公里。村名原作「后樟」，因村后有一棵樟树；「樟」与「彰」读音相同，后来写作今名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年后，村子隶属第七区。1958年归鹤塘公社，当时为后彰大队；1984年改由鹤塘乡管辖，设后彰村委会，至今沿用。[1]
