莪洋村位于闽江北岸，是水口水电站库区的移民搬迁重点村。村名取自村中盛产的莪草。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
莪洋村的建制可上溯到1949年。1958年，它改隶谷口公社并组建莪洋大队；1970年归莪洋公社；1984年改为莪洋镇辖下的莪洋村委会。1990年，因修建水口水电站，改称黄田镇莪洋村委会，沿用至今。[1][2]
地理环境[edit]
村子东与水口镇的湾口村相接，西与镇区毗邻，村内有202省道和古黄公路穿越。[1]
全村下辖谷口、莪洋、柳埕和金钟潭4个自然村。[1]
经济[edit]
移民主要从事果、竹、林种植，网箱养鱼，食用菌等农副产业，并有劳务输出。[1]
