平湖镇是福建省宁德市古田县下辖的镇，位于县境北部，北面与屏南县长桥相邻，距县城约26公里。全镇下辖29个行政村。[1][2]

镇内端上村、达才村、富达村等地有圆瑛故居、黄孝敏烈士故居、富达蓝公府等文物古迹。[4][7][9]

历史沿革[edit]

镇名的由来与镇南古时的一片湖水有关。此处旧称龙岭或白湖岭，后俗称平湖街，再简称平湖。[1]

民国三十七年（1948年）前后，平西镇改称平湖镇，全县仍设14个乡镇。[3]

1949年古田解放后，平湖属古田县第二区，1950年区委会设在平湖，辖13个乡。[3]

1958年设平湖公社。1984年10月，县人民代表大会决定把人民公社改为乡（镇）人民政府，平湖改称平湖镇；博雅地名网另载建镇于1983年，两说并存。[1][3]

2000年，全县设8个镇，平湖镇为其中之一。[3]

1928年，中共古田县特别支部从平湖沙洲尾迁往达才村，此后移至达才村中心黄孝敏的住宅。[8]

地理环境[edit]

平湖镇东接吉巷乡、西连凤都镇，北面与屏南县长桥相邻。镇境面积，百度百科载为146.85平方千米，博雅地名网载为约180平方公里；距县城，百度百科载为26公里，博雅地名网载为27公里。镇属亚热带季风气候。[1][2]

经济[edit]

农业以水稻为主，兼产水果、蔬菜和食用菌。镇境内有金矿资源，博雅地名网载其储量丰富。[1]

镇内出产古田红曲，博雅地名网将其列为平湖镇的特产之一。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

端上村的圆瑛故居为福建省文物保护单位，始建于明末崇祯年间，属明代样式的二层木结构。[4]

端上村的圆瑛法师故居由故居、私塾和学堂三部分组成，是福建省第九批省级文物保护单位。[5][6]

达才村中的黄孝敏烈士故居的始建时间为清光绪三十三年（1907年），据百度百科为福建省第十一批省级文物保护单位。[7][8]

富达村的富达蓝公府为古田县文物保护单位，据《富达畲村志》记载始建于北宋宝元元年（1038年），现存为清代建筑。[9]

端上村另有明清古建筑群四十余处。[10]

端上桥渠位于端上村东南约1600米处，建于二十世纪七十年代，为条石砌筑的桥渠，长32米。[1]

著名人物[edit]

圆瑛法师生于端上村，十四岁前居住在村中的这座老屋里，此后出家。民国时期及新中国成立后，他曾任佛教协会的主要领导人。[4][5]

黄孝敏是达才村人，年轻时参加学生运动，后加入中国共产党，为烈士。[8]
