前坂村位于古田县城北部，距城西街道约2.5公里。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村名因村前有一块大田坂而得名。[1] 1958年，村民为支持古田溪水电站建设，来到此地开荒造田。[1] 1986年，县政府为解决库区移民的遗留问题，在村中征地138亩，建成古田县第一批商品房，并成立新秀居委会，村因此成为城中村。[1]
村委会原设在洋头，1988年10月1日迁入前坂。1984年改为今名，此前1958年曾设罗华大队，1952年为第十一区辖地，1949年隶属第一区。[1]
