新秀社区位于古田县城西，属城西街道，是一个以二次移民为主的纯居民居住社区。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
社区名因是后期新设的社区而取“新秀”之名。[1] 关于成立时间，博雅地名网两处记载不一：一处作1993年成立，另一处作1986年开辟前坂居民区时设立。[1] 前坂村的概况写到，1986年县政府在前坂村征地建成第一批商品房，并成立新秀居委会，与后一说相合。[2]
地理环境[edit]
社区东起新翠公园，西接罗华村，南与青云社区相连，北至前坂村。[1]
