城东街道是福建省宁德市古田县下辖的街道，地处全县中心，县人民政府驻地即在街道范围内。[1][3]

街道设立于2004年10月29日，名称取自它位于县城驻地东部的位置。辖区面积约125.75平方公里，人口约5.6万人。[1][2]

辖区内的翠屏湖为省级风景名胜区，2023年获评国家4A级旅游景区。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

街道成立于2004年10月29日，至今仍沿用此名。[1] 1958年兴建古田溪水电站，水库蓄水后古田旧城被淹没，约4.3万居民迁出，县城迁到新城，吉祥寺塔等古建筑也在此时迁建。[4][5] 此后县人民政府驻地设在本街道。[3]

地理环境[edit]

街道地处全县中心，202省道与304省道贯穿辖区，交通便利。[2] 辖内的翠屏湖形成于古田溪水电站兴建之后，1959年关闸蓄水；博雅地名网载其水域面积37平方公里，百度百科作37.1平方千米，湖中散布36座岛屿。[2][4]

名胜古迹[edit]

翠屏湖之外，辖区内还有天王禅寺、极乐寺和古田溪山书画院。天王禅寺始建于唐中和二年（882年），址在利洋村的佛顶山，1992年登记为宗教活动场所。[7] 极乐寺历史悠久，博雅地名网载近代高僧圆瑛法师曾在此任住持。[2]

古田溪山书画院隶属古田县文联，院址在翠屏湖的后垅岛上。它的前身是宋代的溪山书院，南宋朱熹曾在那里授课；老院址在1958年水库兴建后没入湖中，2000年于后垅岛另建新院。[8]

魁龙书院又称西山书院、径贤庙，位于西山村。南宋庆元三年（1197年）朱熹曾在此讲学，博雅地名网将其列为朱熹讲学遗址；1990年古田县人民政府公布其为县级文物保护单位。[2][9]

文物[edit]

古田吉祥寺塔是一座八角九层的实心石塔，通高25米，该塔建造于北宋太平兴国四年（979年）。1958年古田溪水电站蓄水时，塔从旧城吉祥寺迁至新城松台狮公山（今塔山公园）；1961年5月，该塔被定为福建省第一批省级文保单位。[5]

后陇头洋楼在翠屏湖后垅岛上，始建于1889年，原为美以美教会教牧人员办公和居住的场所，此后作为1891年创办的古田怀礼医院的医师住所使用。省人民政府在2025年12月31日把此楼列入第十一批省级文保名录。[6]

利洋村内有花厝、里厝、松庐等古民居，合称利洋古名居建筑群，博雅地名网称其为古田县第十二批县级文物保护单位。[1]
