海岛乡是福建省宁德市霞浦县下辖的乡，位于县境东南海域，乡域由西洋岛、浮鹰岛、四礵列岛等岛屿组成，乡人民政府设在西洋岛。全乡辖宫东、宫西、烟台、北礵、里澳、文澳6个行政村。[1][4]
全乡四面环海，渔业是主要产业，海产以对虾、黄鱼、鲳鱼、墨鱼等为多。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
西洋岛旧称蜘蛛岛，因岛形如蜘蛛而得名；此后按它与东、西引岛的方位关系，改称西洋岛。[1]
据百度百科，此地约自702年起至1080年止属连江县。维基百科则称西洋、浮鹰诸岛在1953年7月由连江县划归霞浦县管辖。[4][5]
1953年，北礵、浮鹰、西洋等岛屿相继归入人民政府管辖；1954年11月设霞浦县海岛区公所，区公所先驻三沙，1955年5月海岛区分为海岛、三沙两区后迁往浮鹰岛，1956年在浮鹰岛设区公所，1958年5月迁到西洋岛。[2]
1958年设立人民公社，1961年复设为区（博雅地名网作7月，维基百科作5月），1966年撤区改称公社管委会（博雅地名网作8月，维基百科作10月），1968年改由革命委员会领导。1984年8月，海岛乡人民政府建立。[2][5]
地理与人口[edit]
乡域四面环海，乡人民政府距霞浦县城41.9公里。[1]
乡域面积的记载不一：博雅地名网作约29.8平方千米，百度百科作31.78平方千米，两说并列。[1][4]
第七次全国人口普查登记的2020年11月1日零时常住人口为4972人，全县15个乡镇（街道）中，海岛乡是人口少于1万人的4个乡镇之一。普查公报还写明，较十年前的普查，海岛乡人口数量下降。[3]
百度百科另载2019年末户籍人口为9899人，其口径与普查的常住人口不同，两者并列。[4]
岛屿数目也有出入：百度百科作43个岛屿；维基百科则称全乡岛屿共161座，无人居住的占156座。[4][5]
名胜古迹[edit]
四礵列岛位于乡域东南，岛礁群共有18座岛屿和17处礁石，东礵、北礵、南礵、西礵与红礵都在其中，其中北礵岛最大，面积约1.88平方千米。百度百科在介绍海岛乡时也把它列为组成部分。[7][4]
西洋岛是乡政府所在的岛，岛上渔业资源丰富，属闽东渔场的一部分。[6]
浮鹰岛是海岛乡面积最大的岛，旧时称浮瀛山，另称双峰岛，岛上南北两侧各有一座山峰隆起，远望如一只停在海面的雄鹰。[8]
