北壁村位于东冲半岛末端，是北壁乡人民政府所在地，全村辖8个自然村、12个村民小组。[1][2]

霞北公路在村中止于终点，村庄距霞浦县城90公里，村西有北壁乡中心小学和霞浦第十六中学。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

相传南宋末帝赵昺曾在此驻跸，原称驻跸。后因村北有一块大岩壁，方位居北，改名北壁。[1]

耕地约1146亩，住户578户，居民2127人，人口数未注明年份。[1]

交通与人文[edit]

村内各自然村已通机耕路，海路可乘汽艇前往宁德三都澳与金蛇头码头。[2]

村中现存160多年的古建筑，以及建于明初的古城堡遗址；自然村麦云遗有300多年的石磨盘。[1][2]

产业[edit]

村里的特产有地瓜清酒和手工米粉干。弹涂鱼养殖是村里的支柱产业，鲍鱼养殖也有一定规模。[2]

荣誉[edit]

北壁村在2023年10月进入宁德市「一村一品」专业村的名单。[1]

2024年11月，北壁村入选福建省「一村一品」专业村，专业产品为地瓜烧。[1]
