崇儒畲族乡位于福建省宁德市霞浦县西北部山区，是霞浦县三个畲族乡之一，全乡共有27个行政村[1][4][5]。乡政府所在地为崇儒村，乡内畲族人口较为集中[1][2]。相传此地曾出过十八名学士，人们尊崇儒学，因而取名崇儒[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

建国初，此地属第五区，辖地还包括今柏洋乡的一部分，以及今水门畲族乡的承天、百苋两村，区公所设在溪西[3]。1953年，柏洋的辖地另设一区，余下地方仍归第五区[3]。

1958年，区被撤销，改设崇儒、溪西两个公社，承天、百苋两村则并入水门公社[3]。1959年下半年，崇儒与溪西两社合为崇儒区，1966年下半年又改成崇儒公社[3]。1973年，此地一度改称「从农」，经第一次地名普查后恢复原名[3]。博雅地名网记为1985年9月改为崇儒畲族乡，百度百科则记为1984年，此处取博雅地名网的说法[1][3][4]。

地理环境[edit]

崇儒畲族乡在霞浦县西北中部山区，东经119°35′至120°02′，北纬26°36′至26°41′，海拔在120米至800米之间[2]。境内丘陵起伏，溪流交错，杯溪与罗汉溪是霞浦县的两条主要河流，都从乡内穿过[2]。县城与乡政府之间的距离，博雅地名网记为12.5公里，百度百科记为10.1千米，两说不一[1][4]。

境内的溪西水库，是霞浦县最大的人工湖[2]。

人口民族[edit]

据百度百科，2019年末户籍人口为20956人[4]。这次普查以2020年11月1日零时的人口为准，当时全乡常住人口不足1万人，在霞浦县内属人口少于1万的4个乡镇之一，与2010年第六次全国人口普查相比有所减少[6]。博雅地名网所载畲族人口与全乡总数，年份均未注明，此处不取[1][2]。

经济[edit]

耕种以水稻为主，此外有甘薯、马铃薯、豆类和蔬菜；山地上有茶叶、水果、药材和毛竹，芙蓉李是崇儒村的特色产品[2]。

名胜古迹[edit]

袁天禄墓位于溪尾岗，博雅地名网称其为列入县级文物保护单位的墓葬，墓主为袁天禄[2][7]。

龙井岩洞也在境内，博雅地名网将其列为乡内名胜[2]。乡内的樟杭大厝保有畲族大家族群体居住的建筑特色[2]。

荣誉[edit]

崇儒畲族乡于2020年12月被福建省爱卫办确定为「福建省卫生乡镇」[1]。国家级生态乡镇的称号，由原环境保护部于2014年9月授予，所依据的是2012至2013年度的工作[1]。
