王高店村位于杯溪沿岸，全村共有4个自然村。据博雅地名网，全村256户、1030人，其中少数民族占47%，未注统计时间。[1]

村早先称王高巷，因王、高两姓人家聚居，后街两旁开设店铺，改称王高店。[1]

1950年属王高店乡，1958年设王高店生产大队，1984年改为王高店村。2021年11月，王高店村被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
