姚澳村位于盐田乡东南部，距乡中心约8千米，下辖姚澳、郑澳等8个自然村。据博雅地名网，全村693户、2518人，未注统计时间。[1]

村民大多姓姚，村临海澳，故名。村中以种田、种植水果为主，红肉蜜柚是主要果品。[1]

2019年12月，姚澳村列入国家林业和草原局公布的第二批国家森林乡村名单；2021年11月，被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
