蔡洋村在三沙镇西北角，离霞浦县城50余公里，由福宁高速三沙出口的陇头互通北上约10公里可达。村的东边是八斗村，西边为牙城镇凤江村，南与古桶村相接，北达二坑村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
过去村里多是姓蔡的人家居住，村因此得名。[1]
行政区划[edit]
辖内七个自然村为牛栏头、西岗头、狮头下、长湾、大坪、虎运与蔡洋本村。2006年起，结合造福工程，偏远自然村的少数民族群众被集中搬迁到东山村、陇头村等地。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年8月，农业生产合作社改称生产大队，同年设蔡洋生产大队。[1]
