五澳社区位于三沙镇区东南部，所在地为五澳村的一部分，北面以三沙街为界，南侧直抵狮球山。名称源于居委会位于三沙的第五个澳口。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
居委会于1966年设立，1972年划入三沙街委会。1976年恢复独立的居委会建制，2005年转为社区体制，2012年起以五澳社区之名运作。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
辖区内有避风港（又称西堤），长约250米，1957年动工兴建，用于保护港内渔船，堤身同时是观海游览之处。社区另有九使宫（广利侯王宫），始建于乾隆年间，嘉庆十年（1805年）重修。[1][2]
